Environmental Responsibility in Practice
At Møllers Machining, we see environmental responsibility as a natural part of running a modern manufacturing business.
We believe the best results are achieved through long-term decisions, continuous improvements, and a consistent focus on using resources responsibly.
That is why we work systematically to identify areas where we can reduce our environmental impact and strengthen more responsible operations—both today and in the future.
For us, environmental responsibility is not a standalone project. It is part of the way we do business.

How do we work with energy?
Energy consumption is one of the areas where manufacturing companies can make a real difference.
Over the past few years, we have invested in solutions that reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources while increasing our use of renewable energy.
Solar Power Installation
In 2023, we invested in our own solar power system as part of our long-term commitment to reducing the company’s environmental impact.
The installation contributes to our own production of renewable electricity and represents an important step towards more energy-efficient operations.
How do we work with climate?
Since 2023, we have invested in tree planting as part of our long-term climate strategy. Trees absorb CO₂ over decades, making this an investment in the future rather than a quick fix.
Through Scanenergi, we support the establishment of climate forests in Denmark, where the trees are planted by Hedeselskabet. These forests help restore biodiversity while creating more resilient ecosystems across the Danish landscape.

How do we work with transport?
Transport is an essential part of everyday operations in a manufacturing company. For us, it is about taking responsibility where we can make a difference—and our company vehicles were a natural place to start.
In 2023, we replaced our fossil fuel-powered company vehicles with electric cars.
At the same time, we installed our own EV charging stations on-site, making charging a seamless part of daily operations.
We Think and Act Responsibly
As a manufacturer of precision machined components, we integrate responsible resource management into our daily operations – not only through major investments but also through small everyday decisions.
We recycle steel offcuts, minimise transport related to steel deliveries, and invest in machinery that enables more efficient and responsible material handling.
We believe small actions matter. That is why we have switched to LED lighting throughout our facilities and eliminated disposable paper cups. It is all about becoming a little more conscious of how we use resources – every single day.
Environmental responsibility is not about isolated initiatives.
It is about the decisions we make every day.
FAQ
What does ISO 14001 certification mean for a manufacturing company?
ISO 14001 certification demonstrates that a company works systematically with environmental management, including energy consumption, waste reduction and continuous improvement. Møllers Machining is currently undergoing the certification process.
How much of a manufacturing company’s electricity consumption can solar panels cover?
The answer depends on the size of the installation and the company’s energy consumption. Møllers Machining expects its solar power system, installed in 2023, to cover approximately 55–70% of its annual electricity consumption.
What is the CO₂ benefit of planting climate forests?
Climate forests contribute to long-term carbon sequestration while enhancing biodiversity. Through Scanenergi, Møllers Machining has supported the planting of 164 trees, corresponding to the company’s annual energy consumption at the time.
How can manufacturing companies reduce their CO₂ emissions?
Typical initiatives include installing solar panels, switching to LED lighting, electrifying company transport and improving the energy efficiency of production processes. Since 2023, Møllers Machining has reduced its CO₂ emissions by 320 tonnes through these initiatives.
What is battery storage, and why is it relevant for sustainable manufacturing?
Battery storage makes it possible to store surplus solar energy and use it when production requires it, significantly increasing the utilisation of renewable energy. Møllers Machining is currently evaluating this solution.
